Dynamic behavior and function of cellular membranes are controlled by a concerted action of diverse regulatory factors. This symposium will discuss emerging topics in our current understanding of membrane organization and dynamics across multiple scales, ranging from single molecule dynamics to higher order molecular assembly. Recent advances on local signaling, membrane contact sites, membrane-cytoskeletal crosstalk as well as multidisciplinary approaches including imaging, mathematical modeling or chemical biology will be highlighted.
