It has become increasingly clear that mechanical forces regulate cellular functions. The main goal of this symposium is to understand molecular mechanisms mediating force-signal and signal-force transductions. We will also discuss various functions controlled by mechanical forces, including cell growth, differentiation, morphogenesis and motility as well as tissue development and pathological processes.
